Our commitments to you and the planet

We understand that we have a responsibility to both our planet and people as a manufacturer. Here's some of the ways we are trying to make a difference and ensure a more sustainable future through our products and actions.

Committed to reducing carbon emissions

Our goal is to contribute to Net Zero Emissions by 2050, with our next major milestone of 26% CO2eq emissions between 2021 and 2030

ISO 14001

Our exercise book manufacturing facility is certified ISO 14001 in Environmental Management

Product design

By reducing and reusing plastics, seeking alternative sustainable materials and minimising waste and carbon footprint across every aspect of products from manufacturing to packaging.

Energy use

By reducing our consumption of energy in both our plants and offices, and increasing the proportion of renwable energy we use.

Logistics

By optimising our supply and distribution chains, and supporting employees to find more sustainable ways of working

Reducing emissions is our goal rather than buying carbon credits - stopping CO2 emissions at their source.

As manufacturers, we recognise the role we have to play in emission reduction - but buying carbon credits doesn't get to the root of the problem. We're prepared to stand up to our responsibility for the planet's environment - from air we breathe to the water we drink.

As such, we favour renewable and recyclable resources and materials - across our entire product range.

Every year, we make further improvements to achieve a 26% reduction in our direct and indirect CO2 emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) by 2030.

Some good news - The surface area of forests is increasing in Europe and we only use paper from sustainable forests

Against the expectations of many, the European paper industry is helping to increase the area of forest in Europe. Between 2005 and 2020, European forests increased by 58,000 m2, an area larger than Switzerland and the equivalent of 1,500 football fields a day!

Residual CO2eq emissions will be offset when these targets are reached, and by 2030 at the latest.
We will follow the United Nations’ recommendations for the choice of offset projects, taking into account soil conversion and food competition.
